I would have expected the firmware to try to auto-recover and not require a manual reboot/re-initialize. We are told that we need to manually review the status daily and resolve problems asap before they snowball into a larger payroll issue. Sometimes we need to reinitialize it from the Dimensions portal. Most time we just need to reboot the clock to fix it. A couple days later someone fixes the clock and the cached punches come through, now doubling up punches forcing the manager to go back and reconcile it. Not knowing why, the manager goes ahead and manually enters the time. Then the manager goes into Dimensions to make sure their time is correct and they see that some of their employees don't have any time entered.
